Buckingham Garden Centre

We are a family run garden centre that is well known nationally as a specialist for bare rooted hedging plants and young trees. The Garden Centre always has a good selection of shrubs and plants which are not commonly found elsewhere, together with a wide range of the more commonly sought after plants. Established for over 50 years, the Garden Centre has recently been redeveloped to a high standard. Our shop contains the largest selection of seeds and bulbs for miles around, together with garden chemicals, tools, garden furniture and many other goods. Outside we stock peat-based and peat-free composts, paving, fencing, timber decking, garden buildings and greenhouses, and a large range of pots, statues and garden ornaments. Our aquatics centre has a good reputation for their excellent quality tropical, marine and cold water fish. The Gardeners' Retreat, our coffee shop/restaurant, serves fresh home cooked food and is an excellent way to round off any visit to the Garden Centre.

Seeds

Mr Fothergill’s is a family owned and managed British company specialising in supplying seeds to hobby gardeners. 2018 will mark 40 years since the company started as a small business in Suffolk. Over this time it has grown and become widely recognised with its ‘friendly old gardener’ character logo. Still based in Suffolk the company now sells seeds across the UK, Europe and around the world. This growth has been achieved through constant innovation and focus on quality and service.

Franchi seeds is an old Italian seed company that started in 1783, and they are still a family owned company seven generations later. They are specialists in the less common seeds and have a fantastic ethos of donating all their old seeds to schools and other community projects.

Nearly every plant can start from a seed and buying the best quality seed will give your sowing the best possible chance of success. We stock ranges from Fothergill’s, Johnsons, Franchi and Seedball.

Johnsons was established in 1820. They produce premium vegetable and flower seeds. We stock a large range of Johnsons seeds along with their other brands Sarah Raven Wildflowers and Jekka Herbs.

Seedball is a non-profit company on a massive mission to help increase the abundance of British wildflowers and wildlife that depend upon them. They believe that if we can all better use whatever space we have available to us (whether a back garden, balcony, window box, little patio etc) we can together have a hugely beneficial impact on our local ecosystems. The last 50 years has been witness to huge declines in pollinators and other garden wildlife, but together we can really really do something to reverse this. Seedballs are exactly what they say - seeds encased in small balls of growing medium. Just scatter the balls and wait for the flowers to grow. What could be easier!
